NPA and Allergy UK at Hampton Court Flower Show

The National Pharmacy Association (NPA) and Allergy UK have joined forces and will be offering allergy testing at this year's Hampton Court Flower Show.

Representatives of both organisations will be on hand at the event, which will take place between July 7th and 12th, to answer people's questions about hay fever and other allergies.

In the afternoon, they will be offering screening for the common causes of allergies.

John Turk, NPA chief executive said: "One In three people will suffer from an allergy at some time in their life."

However, he added: "People looking for help with allergies often find services are few and far between, indeed there are only six specialist centres in the UK."

According to recent research carried out by YouGov on behalf of Schering-Plough, just one in five people suffering from allergies visit their GP about the condition.

The research also found that 70 per cent of people with hay fever do not take any medication for it.
